Portraits en Trio

Poeima Trio
Saturday, March 14th, 2026, 7:30PM
Forest Hill Church

The brilliant Poiema Trio presents an intimate evening of French chamber music chez Madame Singer, the legendary patron whose Parisian salon fostered nearly all the great French composers of the 20th century. We feature Fauré’s luminous Trio in D Minor, op. 120, composed in his later years while grappling with near-deafness. Also presented are Mélanie Bonis’ Soir et Matin, painting night and day in gossamer lyricism, alongside evocative works by Lili Boulanger and César Franck.

About

The Resonance Project started out as the first serious classical music series in Seattle's Eastside associated with a dedicated performance space, Resonance at Soma Towers.  Our mission was to make classical music accessible for first-time listeners by engaging with the audience in ways that extend beyond normal concert settings.  Now based in Cleveland, the Resonance Project seeks to continue to dialogue with audiences about the beautiful music we feature.

Founded by the originators of the popular series "How to Fall in Love with Classical Music", we strongly believe that music is deep, and that the more ways we find to connect to it, the more beauty and meaning are revealed.  At our events, you will hear professional musicians share insights into the symbolism, hidden structure, history, stories, and sensibility behind each piece of music we perform, complemented by carefully curated visuals and interactive elements.

Music, especially classical music, can seem complex, or disconnected from audiences by time and culture.  But we believe that these separations can be bridged by sympathetic musicians and audiences, and that such connections are sorely needed in today's world.

Mission Statement

The Resonance Project helps audiences connect meaningfully with classical music through events that highlight the expressive, cultural, and human aspects of music.
